WHY SPARKS?

Area Conditions that Support This Critical Pest

Scorpions are not just a part of the zodiac, they're dangerous pests that could be found in or around your home. The largest scorpions found in Sparks grow to be about five and a half inches long, and are easy to identify thanks to the two pincers on the front half of their bodies, followed by a long tail and stinger on the back. Scorpions aren't found in many states around the nation, but residents of Nevada and other southwestern states experience them frequently. That's because scorpions stick close to desert-like environments, and typically emerge from their natural environments during neighborhood development projects - a common sight in the Sparks area. Scorpions have been portrayed by movies and TV shows as being extremely dangerous pests, and while this is true, there is only one type of scorpion in the U.S. whose sting can be deadly. But when most people encounter a scorpion, they usually don't know which type they're dealing with. If you live in a recently developed area of Sparks, or have seen scorpions around your house, use extreme caution. Sealing cracks around the foundation of your home can be one way to keep these pests from getting inside. And since these bugs are fluorescent, surveying the perimeter of your home with a black light can help you find scorpions that may be on their way in. The best way to prevent the risk of scorpions in your home is to contact a pest control company before they ever arrive.
